Dr. Marat Haykin is a general surgeon whose core competence includes the entire spectrum of pathologies in the direction of gastroenterology. Dr. Heikin’s area of professional interest also extends to laparoscopy of the GI tract, proctology, and colorectal surgery. He has performed hundreds of successful surgeries that have helped patients regain their quality of life and permanently relieve their distressing symptoms.
After graduating from medical school in the Republic of Belarus, the doctor interned and practiced in Israel and then went to the United States for an internship. During the whole period of his educational and practical activity, he became a true specialist in general surgery and earned authority among his colleagues and patients. After completing his fellowship, the doctor returned to Israel, where he became a senior surgeon, providing medical services primarily in proctologic colorectal surgical procedures. Today, he sees patients at the private Assuta Hospital.
Dr. Heikin is proficient in surgical nanotechnology and robotics, with which he can perform complex operations without opening the peritoneum. Dr. Heikin’s specialty includes an extensive list of surgical procedures, both minimally invasive and traditional. To date, he is the only surgeon in Israel who performs transanal minimally invasive surgery He was among the first to perform low anterior rectal resection laparoscopically.
To top it all off, Dr. Marat Haykin regularly gives lectures and conducts trainings in endoscopic and general surgery. His research activities (TAMIS) are gaining momentum internationally every year and to this day he continues to tirelessly pursue new surgical opportunities.
